The White Boxer
© 2007 Berndrews Boxers
Approximately 25% of all boxers are born white, and as they don't Conform to the breed standard, many breeders euthanize them.
Although there is a chance they can be deaf not all are, and the ones that are can easily be trained, with hand signals and sign language.
Training any boxer hearing or deaf requires a good deal of patience, so if we give them a chance they can live as happy a life as coloured boxers.

White boxers are not caused by genetic birth defects, it is caused by contributing genetics of both parents, just as humans hair colour is.
The white coat is created when both parents are carriers of the gene, and the offspring inherits the gene from both the mother and father. But the white boxer is the same as all its siblings, with all the energy and personality and spirit that makes them "BOXERS"

The cause of deafness in white boxers is the absence of pigment cells in the inner ear. Resulting in loss of sensory hair cells at about 6 to 8 weeks of age.
